The Ways Of Passion by memod The Ways Of Passion by memod
Whew I'm speeding up with those submissions, am I not? ;)

This piece was fun. It really is a study from a photo reference. Again, the goal was to work on simplification and to pay more attention to brush strokes. Guess it went a little beyond a study, haha :D
Hope you guys enjoy it, print should be up soon =]

On a sidenote....I really need to find a way to check my stuff on a calibrated monitor...on my cintiq the colours seemed a lot more subtle than here... :hmm:

Anyhow, let me know what you think

A little xD
I noticed you have very often a little character like this on your paintings. Is it because you like to put one in your drawings or do you have a more atmospherial reason? Like, you want to show how big is the scene for example.

A tiny bit, haha :D

And yeah, I definitely use it to create a sense of scale...and also to provide a hint of life =] Otherwise an environment can easily look a bit barren :D

Hey =] A bit of a mixture of brushes, but lately a lot of the time I use Shaddy Safadi's brushes, they're really nice, I like them a lot. Give them a shot =]

Nice piece, balanced composition, use of light and details. I should put a couple ov dark rocks in foreground for increare a little bit the sence of scale.

Thank you =] I had a bigger mass of rocks there initially, but I felt they were too distracting, so I took them away again =] But you have a point nonetheless, the scale could probably be clearer in the foreground.

Yes even I thinks that a big rock it could be distracting, but you could add some details  into the rocks composition to the right and add a little camping for the climber.

Is there a good textured brush set to use for landscapes? I've found a few that look good for clouds, but not much else

Thanks so much :D Yeah I had put down some pretty vivid colours at first, pretty much following Shaddy's approach....although I feel like I could have let more of them show through in the foreground, hmm.
