So I thought it's time for a new journal! Not that I have a whole lot of meaningful stuff to say, but I thought I'd let you know that I'm still alive, haha! I have been fairly busy with uni assignments lately, lots of annoying writing and attempting to reach minimum word counts, it really is quite dull. And I am working on a commission as well. But I cannot really complain too much, I am doing well![]()
And while I may not have had the time to really do a painting, I've been actively filling pages of my sketchbook with little thumbnail sketches, playing around with different ideas for sceneries and perspectives more, which is heaps of fun. Most sketches are not more than four inches wide (about ten cm), some even less, and they don't take too longAnd all done with pencils or pen, but it's ideal to stay rough. I can only recommend anyone to do that!
When I have some more time again, I will probably plough through the thumbnails and pick some which I will paint!
Also I've been meaning to do that for a while now, I wanted to plug ~Sangiev's King of Land contest here! It will go through several rounds, and the good entries of each round advance to the next. There seems to be a fair amount of prizes waiting at the end, too, so have a look

The deadline has been extended to April 20th, so there's plenty of time for you guys to join in
Now back to assignmentsHow is life treating all of you?

Hope all that work of yours ain't too bad.
And just like someone above... I'd love to see some of those sketches of yours.
As for myself... My computer's crashed twice in two weeks, so I'm rather ticked and unproductive. How that differs from usual, I don't know, though xD
And hey now, twice in two weeks isn't all thaaat bad
Well, it is, considering that I lost the majority of my data, including Maya, Photoshop, RealFlow, and a myriad of other applications. I had to get a new harddrive, after all...
Then again, once summer comes, I hope to be back and ready to make "art" xD
I'd love to see some of those sketches, but I know being scanner-less kind of makes that a bit impossible.
And life has actually been treating me quite kindly, for once!
And yeah, without a scanner it's all a bit difficult
By the way, "Dancakes"? Hardly a manly man's name, now is it?
Hehe hey now, I like my nickname
Oh by the way, plenty of these thumbs feature bridges
Now, I didn't say anything about liking or disliking your nickname, I merely pointed out that it lacks something in the area of manliness. As the saying goes: "Whatever rocks your boat..."
Now I wanna see your thumbs even more! Or at least some finished product with bridges in.
